Sasha is very happy that the sun has finally returned in
force, and I can’t complain about it either. Now that the mornings are lighter
I find it much easier to get out and about, and I even find that I’m up that
much earlier, ready to get out and about with her before I head off for work.
This means that she’s getting a longer walk and a better workout, guaranteeing
that she is well exercised for the day, and I get nicely woken up in the
morning before I start the day and manage to get some exercise in as well.
When it’s a bit darker I use a head-torch on my walks. It
keeps my hands free and allows me to have the lead at the ready whenever I feel
Sasha needs to be put back on it immediately but more importantly (in Sasha’s
eyes, at any rate) my hands are free to throw her all around for her. She’s
even twigged that I use my torch to follow the path of the ball, so she’s
become very adept at finding it even in half light. She’s certainly not as
stupid as she’d like me to think!
She’s healed up perfectly now and temporarily appears to
have forgotten the angst she went through during her stint wearing the ‘cone’,
which may be thanks to the number of cheese treats I plied upon her to stop the
disapproving looks she was still giving me. She whizzing about and is totally
happy, and I now make sure she sticks to most paths until I know it’s okay for
her to rummage about – but try as I might to control her, she’ll always whizz
away when my back is turned.
This has been a whizzy post from me today as there is plenty
to get on with and, despite the longer hours of sun, hardly any time to get it
all done in! I’ll write again soon!
